The American Red Cross of Cape, Islands and Southeast Massachusetts is holding the following blood drives (to make an appointment call 1-800-REDCROSS or visit www.redcrossblood.org): May 23 at the East Taunton Knights of Columbus from 1-6; May 23 at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River from 12-5; May 23 at The Y Taunton Branch from 8-1; May 24 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford from 2-7; May 26 at the Harwich Community Center from 10-3; May 26 at the Easton Knights of Columbus from 9-2; May 26 at the Hotel 1620 in Plymouth from 1-6.

The Wareham Oyster Festival Gala is May 25 at the Rosebrook Event Center in Wareham from 5:30 to 8 p.m.  There will be raw oyster bar with shellfish from Indian Cove Aquaculture, wine samples from Westport Rivers Vineyard, other food choices, cash bar, and silent auction.

Christ Church Parish in Plymouth is have their National Sunscreen Protection Day Sale May 26 & 27.  Shoppers who spend more than $10 get a free Coppertone Sheer sunscreen spray or a $3 coupon to use on the next visit.  Donations always welcome.  For details call 508-746-4990.

St. John Neumann Parish is having their Lakeside Family Festival May 26-29 at Cathedral Camp on Long Pond, Route 18, in East Freetown.  Admission is free.  For hours of operation click here.  There will be rides for all ages, game booths, home-baked foods, entertainment and more.

Helping Hands for the Plymouth Animal Shelter will hold its annual yard sale May 27 from 9-1 at their shelter in Cedarville.  Rain date is Sunday.  Make an offer on any items.  All proceeds pay for veterinary care for the animals held at the town-owned shelter.  Donated items welcome.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth announces its spring indoor yard sale May 27 at the Plymouth United Methodist Church on Carver Road from 9-2.  Donations can be dropped off at the church May 26 from 3-7.  No electronics, clothing, bedding, exercise equipment or stuffed animals.

The Town of Randolph is celebrating Memorial Day weekend with a schedule of events beginning May 28 at 10 a.m. and ending May 29 with a community breakfast at 10:45 at Stetson Hall.  Cost is $5 and tickets are available at the door.  The public is invited to attend all ceremonies.

The Town of Plymouth Memorial Day Parade is Monday, May 29 starting promptly at 9:30 a.m. at Memorial Hall.  There will be free parking only until noon.  There will be ceremonial stops along the way including wreath-laying, followed by a Sea Dedication ceremony at State Pier.

Window to the World Book Group will meet May 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Plymouth Public Library on South Street.  For kids ages 9-11, where they discuss a book that embraces diversity and is aimed at giving the reader a glimpse of a world outside their own.  Registration required.  508-830-4250.

The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce Veterans Committe will host a FREE Job Connection Mixer for veterans and spouses at the Tavern on the Wharf in Plymouth, Jun. 1 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Mingle with representatives from various industries and connect with fellow veterans.  Register here.

Old Colony Elder Services presents "Buried in Treasures", a judgment-free self-help group for people with hoarding issues.  Held once a week now through Jun. 15 from 12:30-2:30 at the Center for Active Living in Plymouth (44 Nook Road).  FREE for attendees.   Call 508-584-1561 x232 to register.
